Yesterday a patient came in with a black eye. Now, I have seen many a black eye in my years of practice. The typical black eye I see is on an elderly patient that fell. Usually the person has their glasses on.
But this accident description was way different.
Me: How did you get the black eye?
Patient: Well… I was sleeping and went to roll over… and I couldn’t because the covers were stuck. So I tugged on the covers real hard and my hand slipped off…. and I hit myself in the eye.
You can’t just make this stuff up.
